Our Mission
Divorce can be difficult, overwhelming and hard on all families. Our goal is to keep
spouses out of court to reduce needless waste of financial assets, psychological turmoil,
and to bring forth a productive post-divorce lifestyle. Compassionate Divorce is non-
adversarial and engages in collaborative divorce and facilitative mediation. We aim to
use the utmost efficiency, fairness and most importantly, to apply compassion to the
situation.
Who We Are
Compassionate Divorce is an alternative and innovative mediation group, putting
in effect groundbreaking methods that are radically different from those currently in
use. We are the first team to implement new concepts and specific techniques with
forgiveness, compassion and trust at the core. Our divorce team incorporates leading-
edge research on compassion and forgiveness in our practice, and has collaborated
with the country’s leading experts to develop a successful system for divorce mediation.
Our mediators believe strongly in amicable resolution of divorce issues and/or marital disputes, and will put into effect their vast experience to accomplish this. We are here to prevent the wide ranging stresses that can develop from a courtroom battle, and to create a long-term outcome that is productive and good natured for all parties involved.
Divorce is only partially about the divorce itself. Too many times the dispute results in winning vs. losing in court, and in this situation, both parties lose. Divorce is not about right and wrong. We are deeply opposed to this type of process and outlook, and have the tools to change it.
Compassionate Divorce differs from the traditional battle in that it focuses on all aspects of the process, and aids in accomplishing a harmonious aftermath and agreed upon settlement. We take into consideration the perspectives of the entire family (including children if they are involved) and tackle all angles of the disagreement. We will ask, “What is the ideal result?” “What needs to be executed in order for all parties to move on successfully?” “How can two households thrive down the road?” And we will work with you to make these ideas a reality.
How It Works
Our mediators will analyze all concerns and resolve them so that all members are
protected and pain is prevented. Agreements revolving around property, custody, etc.
will be made in a timely fashion.
Compassionate Divorce is broadly defined and will use our specific skills and procedures from beginning to end to deal with all aspects of the divorce, beyond the basic issues. We will work within your particular context on your specific issues. Divorce is much more extensive than most realize, and we will tackle any and all elements that arise. Our goal is to have everyone involved leave the mediation feeling positive about themselves and each other. Hope and understanding will be introduced into the picture, where it would most likely be absent otherwise. You can end on an optimistic note with our help.
